The project aimed to deliver the concept of Smart Villages to communities in Rural Dublin. Smart Villages are communities in rural areas that use innovative solutions to improve their resilience, building on local strengths and opportunities. The participants were guided through a structured learning programme, based on the latest developments in the Smart Villages concept. The intention was to support between 6 and 10 communities in the development of Smart Village Action Plans that could be implemented in a future phase.
The participants gained valuable skills and knowledge around the concept of Smart Villages, and practical guidance from the trainers on how to move from concept to implementation.
Thank you to LEADER for the funding to enable this training to take place and for participants to gain knowledge and upskill; it will lead to better capacity in rural communities and organisations to address local issues.
