Time-limited calls and Open rolling calls

Actions identified in the Local Development Strategy will be realised through Targeted Calls which will involve opening and closing dates for submission of ‘Expression of Interest’ forms. These ‘time-limited calls’ will be publicised through local newspapers our website social media and our newsletter. 40% of the total LEADER Budget will be spent in this method.

The other 60% of the budget will be based on ‘open-rolling calls’ which we will accept ‘expression of interest’s’ at any time during the lifetime of the programme (subject to available budget). The ‘Open Rolling Calls’ and ‘Time Limited Calls‘ are based on strategic actions identified within the DRLs Local action Plan.

Limited time – Economic Development

Strengthen Dublin Rural tourism offering through people, product and place in harmony with its unique rural environment.

Strategic Action 1

Training animation and capacity building to strengthen the tourism industry and economy in the Dublin rural region.

This call will offer support to upskill and build the capacity of Individuals and cluster groups to deliver high quality visitor experience and maximise the economic potential from tourism. Specific actions will include:

  1. Animation and mentoring
  2. Guiding (heritage, walking and environmental)
  3. Interpretation and storytelling
  4. Marketing and social media
  5. Cluster/Co-Operative/Destination Business Development

Who can apply

The scheme is open to Rural Dwellers, Tourism Providers and any member of a Farm Family.

Level of grant aid available

Funding is on a competitive basis at a rate of up to 100% of the total eligible costs of the training project/programme.  The following table provides a guide to the available budget and the level of funding available for this funding call.

Strategic Action 4

Development and support of Dublin Rural unique tourism experience through strategic planning/clustering and destination development and marketing to capitalise on Failte Ireland’s – Dublin, a breath of fresh air.

This call will offer support for study and strategic planning in the area of destination development and cluster marketing/networks across the operational region ensuring the maximum tourism potentials of the brand is achieved across the various Unique Selling Points (USP) throughout the operational area.

Who can apply

The scheme is open to local Tourism Providers, Farm Families, Rural Dwellers, Tourism Companies and Business Entrepreneurs.

Level of grant aid available

Funding is on a competitive basis at a rate of up to 75% of the total eligible project costs.  The following table provides a guide to the available budget and the level of funding available for a limited number of projects in 2017.

Strategic Action 6

Provision of enterprise Training and Capacity Building support for under-represented individuals and groups.

This call will stimulate innovation and business development within new and emerging DME’s and Social Enterprise sectors.  Specific targeting will include the following groups in line with needs identified.

Who can apply

The scheme is open to Under-represented groups including, women, young people, ethnic minorities, travelling community and people with disabilities.

Level of grant aid available

Funding is on a competitive basis at a rate of up to 75% of the total eligible project costs.  The following table provides a guide to the available budget and the level of funding available for a limited number of projects in 2016-2017.
